1783 assessmens in Baltimore County
Christian Mumma. Lots (2), improved. BA Baltimore East Hundred, p. 5. MSA S 1161-2-4 1/4/5/45
David Mumma. BA Baltimore East Hundred, p. 5. MSA S 1161-2-4 1/4/5/45 (son or father?)
David's birth (17 Feb 1751), death (30 Oct 1816) and burial (31 Oct 1916) are recorded on page 179 in the First German Reformed Church Records. The birth year of 1751 is in conflict with the birth year of 1753 recorded in the Schunk bible. A birth year of 1751 would be in conflict with the birth of his brother, so 1753 has been selected as being corred.
Military Service:
From all indications, I believe that David served in the Revolutionary War with the Maryland German Regiment. He was the only David Mumma living in this area of Maryland who was of the right age, etc. He enlisted on 12 July, 1776 under the roll of Capt. Greybell. He was mustered out on 20 July 1783
