Omaha Artist Dead
Omaha, Neb., June 3 -- To the Editor of the World-Herald: It will be a matter of regret to her friends to know that Mrs. Frances M. Mumaugh, an artist of note in Omaha some years ago, passed away at her daughter's home in Portage, Pa., recently after an illness of four weeks.
Mrs. Mumaugh taught painting at Brownell hall for many years. Her studio was in the Paxton block. Her pictures grace the walls of many homes in Omaha, her water colors especially being highly prized. She painted in Germany, Holland, Belgium and other countries where she studied every summer.
She was greatly missed in this community when she left here several years ago to make her home in New York. There, too, she achieved success, her work being eagerly sought by large publishing houses.
Mrs. Mumaugh was in her seventy-fourth year at the time of her death and had continued active until within a few months of the end. Her friends and former pupils will mourn her deeply.
A FAMILY FRIEND.
