Extended illness claims life of Darke Co., native.--Funeral to be Tuesday in Union City for John Mumah.
A life-long resident of Darke County,O., John Mumah,81, died Sat. at 4 p.m. at the home of his daughter in Union City following an illness of more that three years. Mr. Mumah was born at Hillgrove, O., southeast of Union City, the son of Eli and Barbara (Kaufman) Mumah. He attended the Hillgrove school and later was a farmer in the community until his retirement,about twenty years ago. At that time he moved to Union City.
Mrs. Hannah Mumah, his wife,has been deceased for about four years. He was a member of the Union City Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are five children, Mrs. Stella Turner, 591 North Walnut street, Union City,O., at whose home he died;Burt Mumah of Union City;Mrs. Eva Harper of Dayton,O.;Mrs. Esta Cole of Nashville,O., and William Mumah of Union City;one brother Albert of Mumah of Sand Lake,Mich;and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. (CST) at the Brooks Funeral Home in Union City, with Rev. Earl Lantz officiating. Burial will be in the Lisbon Cemetery, northwest of Union City.
