Mother of John Logan Malone and his partner Stephanie Katelyn Sisson.
Daughter of Jacqueline and John Mumma.
Sister of Judy, Sid, Janet, Jill, Gary, Joyce, Darrell,Jeri, John, Jane, Bob, and Jeanne
Beloved aunt of her nieces and nephews.
Cherished friend of many.
Joan's pure heart, generous and courageous nature, beauty and creativity were gifts to all. She deeply loved her family. An adventurous spirit Joan explored the world with curiosity and delight. She made devoted friends wherever she went and stayed in touch with hand written cards and letters. You knew it was time for fun when you saw the twinkle in Joan's eyes. She rejoiced on a snow day and loved the beach, from Hawaii to Agate Bay. If there was an agate or unusual rock to be found, she would find it, a talent she inherited from her Mom.
An artist extraordinaire, creativity flowed effortlessly from Joan. She had the gift of channeling her inner beauty, love, and compassion into her art. A smiling fused-glass mask, a dancing metal figure, a sculpture of flotsam found on the beach transformed into a soulful singer, or a perfectly thrown and beautifully glazed pot. Each piece sprang to life with Joan's creative touch.
A true Plant Whisperer, flowers, vegetable gardens and exotic house plants, thrived under Joan's special attention. She didn't have a green thumb; all of her fingers and toes were green.
Drawn to the esoteric; she was attracted to crystals and read divination cards. Joan truly believed that there was more to this world than meets the eye and in the idea that "we are not alone".
Joan was a proud member of the Pipe Fitters Union. She became a welder in the 1970's, an unusual and challenging path for a woman at that time. Welding like all of her talents became an art form. She demanded perfection of herself in each craft she mastered whether for work or art.
She LOVED her kitties.
Gone too soon, missed beyond words, forever loved.
"For she's a jolly good fellow, which nobody can deny"
"Which nobody can deny"
