Richard Mumma, business partner
Richard R. Mumma, 59, of 130 Briar Hill Road, Lititz, died at home Thursday after a 14 -year illness.
He was a partner in XF Enterprises, formerly Xtra Factor, of Ephrata.
In his 37 years with the animal nutrition company, he also worked as bookkeeper and controller and was secretary-treasurer of the board.
A 1960 graduate of Ephrata High School, Mumma graduated from the former McCann's School of Business, Reading, and attended the Berks campus of Penn State University and Marywood College.
He helped create the Wells of Hope Library at Ephrata Cancer Center, which is maintained by the Woman's Club of Ephrata.
Mumma was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kissel Hill, where he was a former member of the choir. He enjoyed music and playing piano for churches and nursing homes.
He was known for the extensive daffodil beds at his home, where more than 10,000 flowers bloomed each spring.
Born in Hahnstown, he was the son of the late Reuben S. and Ella Mae Whitman Mumma.
He was married to Brenda Ann Sprecher Mumma.
Surviving besides his wife are two brothers, Kenneth L. and LeRoy E., both of Denver.
