Homer V T Kepner, 79, died at his home in Highland township, near Jacobs' store, Thursday at 7:45 a.m. from a complication of diseases. He had been in poor health a year and was taken seriously ill on February 3.
The deceased was born in Adams county, the last of the family of the late Benjamin F and Harriet S Mumma Kepner. He was a weaver by trade and operated the old woolen mills near Hammer's hall for 58 years. For the last few years he was employed as an apple butter maker at the South Mountain Canning company, Orrtanna. He was a member of the Marsh Creek Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his widow, Amelia Jane Speck Kepner, to whom he was married 54 years; and four children, Melvin L., Mrs. Norman Plank and Mrs. John E Trostle, all of Gettysburg R3 and Mrs. Galen Brindle, Seven Stars.
Funeral services from the Marsh Creek church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 conducted by Elders W.G. Group and Walter A Keeney. Interment in the church cemetery.
