Fatally Injured This Morning

Fatality Occurs Near Philadelphia

Joseph M. Mumma, a brakeman on the
Philadelphis division of the Pennsyl-
vania railraod, was killed early this
morning at a point on the main line about
thirty-vive miles west of Philadelphia.
The particulars of the tragedy could not
be learned today, as the crew of the
train has not yet made the return trip.
It is believed, however, that Mr. Mumma
slipped fromn the top of a car and
fell under the wheels. The body was
badly mangled, being cut in two. The
remains were brought home this after-
noon at 3 o'clock.
Mr. Mumma had been employed by the
Pennsylvania railroad company six years,
during which time he sustained two minor
accidents. He resided at 1636
North Fifth street, and is survided by
a wife and three children. Mr. Mumma
was 38 years old and was a memeber of
the Pennsylvania railroad relief, Brother-
hood of Trainman, Knights of Malta
and severl other beneficial organization.
