In 1860, Sam MOOMAW married and raised a family on a farm in the West Lick area. His wife, Mary, died in 1920; and after he remarried in 1927 they moved into Laddonia. The house is gone at this farm which has not been family owned for many years. It was located about 1/2 mile east of Joel Moomaw's farm.
In 1905, the Littleby Baptist Church Record Book notes he was Cemetery Assistant.
