MEADE ? Viola Levina (Hill) Moomaw, 82, died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at the Meade District Hospital Long Term Care Center in Meade.
She was born March 13, 1924, to Jesse Billings and Edia May (Ogle) Hill in Missler in rural Meade County.
She married Francis Marion Moomaw Sept. 15, 1943, in Hutchinson.
She graduated from Hutchinson High School.
She was a postal clerk for many years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), both of Meade, and was a former member of a four-wheel club.
She enjoyed camping and scenes of the great outdoors. She also enjoyed crafts working with plastic canvas.
Survivors include one son, Francis Marion "Joker" Moomaw Jr., Englewood, Calif.; one daughter, Diane Lynn (Moomaw) Sapp; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one niece, LeAnna Janeal (Hill) Brinckman, Meade.
She was preceded in death by one brother, James Merlyn Hill; and two sisters, Mary Hutton and Naomi Edith Hill.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Meade with the Rev. Lynn E. Spencer presiding.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Stafford Cemetery in Stafford.
Friends may call noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
Memorials are suggested to the St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
