FANNIE was a lifelong active member of Littleby Baptist Church. She was a longtime Trustee (fourth trustee since 1870) of Littleby Baptist Cemetery; and in 1947 she was appointed as a delegate to the association meetings.
December 22, 1920, FANNIE married Lee SONWALT, the third son of German immigrants, and she moved one mile to a 500 acre farm that her parents gave her. They continued to successfully add more land and larger cattle feeding barns to this farm and were known prominently throughout Audrain County.
FANNIE is remembered for her many kindnesses, homemaking skills including her many big family fried-chicken & harvest-time meals for 10 to 15 men, her clean home with starched furnishings, and her flowers and vegetable garden.

(1) Many of the farm buildings, barns, big chicken house and the old house were not maintained and obsolete for their last 30 years. In 1995, this farm was deeded to daughter, Frances, and in 1997 many buildings were removed and cleared away.
(2) 1999, Littleby Baptist Church is active and looks good with a new coat of white paint. Sunday services have an attending membership of about 30. The cemetery is very well maintained, but without an endowment,& the church members must continually help and cleanup. There is a Christmas program; and an annual July 4th picnic attended by maybe 65 - 70 adults and children in the nearby communities.
