The 1860 Census shows Jacob (a farmer) and Maria living in Mummasburg with children Elias age 10, Sarah age 8 who died later that year see above, Mary age 3 along with Eve Eicholtz age 72 who is Jacob's mother and then a Francis Hughes age 14 farm laborer.
1870 Census shows Jacob age 43 with a female Clarissa age 40 keeping house and I assume but only assume that she was second wife. No children listed which is a bit strange. Jonas at this time age 70 shows Anna Eicholtz age 14 and Susan Eicholtz age 4 living with him and others..
There is evidence, via grave stone in Mummasburg, PA that Maria and Jacob had a daughter Sarah E, who died in 1860 age 9yrs 13 days
