Mary J. Dawe, 86, died at 12:05 p.m. July 19, 2008, at The Ridge at Shawnee.
She was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Lima to Clarence and Goldie Zurmehly Mumaugh, who preceded her in death. She married George "Jim" Dawe, who died in 1973.
Mrs. Dawe retired from McNamara Realty. She was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church, where she taught Bible school for several years. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center. She was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and will be welcomed into his eternal presence in Heaven. She was dearly loved by her family and all who knew her.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Dawe, of Concord, Calif., and Larry Dawe, of Lima; two granddaughters, Ericka Dawe, of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Megan Dawe, of Concord, Calif.; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Mumaugh and Nancy Dawe, both of Lima.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Mumaugh , and a sister, Dorothy Elms.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawnee United Methodist Church. Pastor Charlotte Hefner will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2500 N. Reynolds Road, Toledo, OH 43615-2820.
