Chester L. Mumaw, 57, of RD 1, Ashland, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in Samaritan Hospital following an extended illness.
The son of Aaron and Martha (Solomon) Mumaw, he was born in Ashland Feb. 27, 1911.
Mr. Mumaw had been employed by the street department of the City of Ashland.
He was married in 1957 to Lillian Williams.
Survivors include his widow and four sons, Chester L. Mumaw Jr., Larry Mumaw and Bill Mumaw, all of Ashland and David Rodgers of Jeromesville; two daughters, Mrs. Ron Sferra of Steubenville and Mrs. James Coy of Salem; two stepsons, Charles Rodger of Ashland and Arthur Rodgers, serving with the Armed Forces in Vietnam' one brother, Hubert Mumaw of Ashland; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Kelso and Mrs. Sylvia Chiarmonte, both of Columbus; and 11 grandchildren.
His parents and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heyl and Robbins Funeral Home, with Rev. Warren W. Costick officiating. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park.
Visiting hours will be from 7-9 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
