William Brown (Bill) Hepner, 92, of Woodstock, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Consulate Health Care in Woodstock.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, November 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Pastor Nathan Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Bill was born October 21, 1922 in Conicville, son of the late Charles L. Hepner and Ruth Mumaw Hepner.
He was a 1939 graduate of Triplett High School and an army veteran of World War II. He was employed with Rust Engineers when building American Viscose Plant in Front Royal and later employed with American Viscose. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Woodstock Office as a postal clerk retiring on April 1, 1988 after 30 years. After retirement he worked with his son at Valley Flower Shop for several years. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council and sang in the church choir and a member of Woodstock American Legion Post #199. He was Past Master of Cassia Lodge AM & FM.
Bill is survived by his wife of 68 years, Pollyanna Burnshire Hepner; son, Charles W. Hepner and wife Michele of Woodstock; daughter, Susan H. Clem of Woodstock; two grandsons, Clinton Jacob Hepner and wife Paige and Christopher Sean Hepner and wife Brittney; great-grandson, Quay Smith Hepner and one brother, Leonard E. Hepner of Woodstock.
Pallbearers will be Charles W. Hepner, Clinton Jacob Hepner, Christopher Sean Hepner, Cecil Rosen, Richard (Buck) Shrum and Larry Hepner.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shenandoah County Free Clinic or Emanuel Lutheran Church.
