Lester C. Royer, age 97, of Louisville, passed away Monday evening, July 21, 1997 in Columbia Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Louisville, May 27, 1900. After graduating from Louisville High School, he worked as an electrician for the Timken Co. for 43 years. After retiring in 1966, he enjoyed repairing electric motors in home. Lester married the late Maude (Moomaw) in 1924, both were active members of the Center Church of the Brethren, where Lester had attended all his life. Preceded in death by his wife, Maude Irene (Moomaw); his son, John Paul Royer. Survivors include children and spouses, June and Bill Scott of Louisville, Jim and Faye Royer of Louisville, Joe and Patricia Royer of Massillon, Ruth Royer of Louisville and Dan and Jan Royer of North Canton; grandchildren, Gene and Ada Mae Royer, Debra and Richard Kohut, Marilyn Jo and Jeffrey Getson, Cheryl and Michael Schott, Karen and Peter Balanecki, Christine and Ed Lowther, Lynn Royer, !
Pamela Jo Royer, Steven and Melanie Royer, Suzanne Scott, Daryl Royer, Brian Royer, David and Doreen Royer, Doug and Kim Royer; 16 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Stier-Israel Funeral Home, Louisville, with Rev. Wayne Brockway officiating. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Center Church of the Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Center Church of the Brethren.
