[Note: Date and name of the newspaper is unknown for the following obit] Mr. David Moomaw died on last Monday morning at his home near Orkney Springs, VA; aged 84 years, 1 month, and 14 days. His death was rather unexpected as he had been taken suddently ill only the previous day. The deceased was twice married. His wife was Miss Mary Barb by whom he had one child Mr. John Moomaw, who is justice of the peace in Lee district. His second wife, who died about four years ago, was Miss Catharine Tussing. They had 9 children. Of this number 8 survive - Miss Alice Moomaw and Mrs. Casper Funkhouser (Lillie), near New Market, VA; Mrs. Jerry Hansberger(Ada), La Odessa, Michigan; Mrs. Thomas Funkhouser (Hamie), at home; Miss Anna (died about three months aago); Miss Laura at home; Miss Iva near
Orkney Springs; and sons Lonnie and Berlin at home.
His funeral was held Wednesday morning from Powder Springs church, his Pastor Rev. J.W. Hausenfluck officiating.
It is unclear about his place of burial. One source indicated it was Tomahawk Pond (aka Antioch) Cemetery, Basye, VA, but the obituary lists the Powder Springs
