Betty L. Cover

Betty L. Cover, 83, of Mechanicsburg passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 in the Bridges at Bent Creek, Mechanicsburg. She was born October 1, 1928 in York County to the late Gurney H. and Sudie M. Moomaw Griffith.
Betty graduated from the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing and a member of its Alumni Assoc. She retired from Beverly Nursing Corp., as a nursing supervisor. A member of the Silver Spring Presbyterian Church and after retirement was the parish nurse. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and bird watching. She loved to dance with Richard and caring for others, her extending family was very important to her.
Betty is survived by her husband Richard E. Cover and her son Michael S. and wife Becky Cover of Harrisburg and daughter Cynthia A. Mac Gee of Mechanicsburg. Betty loved her grandchildren, Ashley and husband Christopher Donsbach of New Cumberland, Lindsay and Christopher M. Cover of Harrisburg. Also surviving is her brother Robert E. and wife Sandy Griffith and her sister Alice I. Meyers of Camp Hill and sister in law Connie Griffith of Etters and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Lynn H. Griffith, her infant sister Cecelia Griffith and brother in law John Meyers.
Memorial services will be held in her church Friday, Oct. 21st, at 10:30 a.m., with her pastor Donald Steele, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to her church at 444 Silver Spring Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 or the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
