Data source is the 1990 book, "Moomaw-Mumma-Mumaw-Mumaugh Genealogy" compiled by Robert Austin Moomaw (deceased).
Research by Doug Mumma
The information listed below was recorded on a small scrap of paper from a family bible. It was found by Denise Lahr in the Landis Valley Museum, It is unclear as to who wrote the information, but it was likely Lydia herself. No marriage record or other document linking Lidy Mumma and Emanuel Royer has been found and it is likely that their child, Mariah Royer, was illegitimate and born out of wedlock. This fact is further supported by the announcement of Lydia's marriage to George Witters in 1844 in which Lydia is listed as "Miss Lydia Muma". Maria's Royer's death certificate also lists her father Royer.
"The New Testament
Lidy Muma was born the 11th day of October in the year 1811.
Daughter of Henry Mumma and Elizabeth, his wife.
Mariah Royer was born the 8th day of April, 1834, the daughter of Emanuel Royer and Lidy Mumma"
Denise also believes that "Emanuel Royer" was the son of Joseph and Martia Martin Royer who lived in the area in Rapho Twp. but then moved west. Emanuel was married in 1835 to Rebecca Hildebrand and died July 11, 1850.

State Census taker. Curious as to why that question annoyed her.
