EVELYN MOOMAW OBITUARY
Evelyn ?Evie? Grace Moomaw, 87, of Wooster, went to be with her Lord Monday, December 12, 2022, at The Avenue in Wooster.
Evie was born February 10, 1935, in Dalton to Daniel J. and Lina Violet {Amstutz} Eberly. She graduated from Dalton High School, class of 1953
She married Galen Moomaw on June 13, 1959.
Evie was a full-time farmer, potato grader, cookie maker, pi?ata creator, birthday cake baker and memory maker.
She was an active member of Wooster Grace Church, teaching preschool Bible School (3-year-old ?busy bees?) for 50 years. She would bake every child a cake on their birthday and send them a note from Mrs. Evie if they were absent.
Evie enjoyed working in her immaculate vegetable garden and mowing any road ditch in sight. She loved her grandkids! Grandma She didn?t miss a concert or athletic event. She took each grandchild to dinner on their birthday, baked the best sweet rolls, and sang everything. Evie displayed the joy of the Lord and smiled even in the tough times; her sense of humor was spot on even to her last days here with us.
Evie will be deeply missed by her husband of 63 years, Galen, daughter Jacqui (Steve) Hohulin of Arlington, TX, sons Tim (Carol) Moomaw and Randy (Jackie) Moomaw all of Wooster; grandchildren Jill Moomaw, Holly (David) Lewis, Emily (Victor) Weyant, Taylor (Lindsey) Hohulin, Nathan (Meagan) Hohulin, Erin (Luis) Carbajal, Kyle (Mariah) Moomaw, Tyler (Katie) Moomaw and her 8 great-grandchildren, brother Herb (Dot) Eberly, and sister Vivian Troyer.
Evie was preceded in death by her 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 17 at 10 am at Wooster Grace with her son Pastor Randy Moomaw officiating. A reception will follow immediately after the service at the church for friends to greet the family. Inurnment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Roberts Funeral Home ?
