According to Richard with whom I corresponded in the summer of 2004, Samuel's mother died when he was very young, and he and his full sisters did not have a mother for many years. He moved away to Ohio before his father died, although by then his father had remarried. His second wife had children from her first marriage, then they also had two boys together.
The International Genealogical Index lists a Samuel Kingrey born in Maryland in 1807.
According to information provided by Roger Rhoads, 8/2010, the family is of German heritage, probably immigrating prior to the Revolutionary War. There is a Christian Kingery in Frederic Co., MD in 1790 and a John Kingrey in Lower Antietam Hundred, Washington Co., MD in 1810. A Jacob Kingrey is in Washington Twp., MD in 1830. That appears to be the lineage of this family.
