Virginia M. Jackson

PEABODY ? Virginia M. Jackson, 85, of Peabody, formerly of Ipswich and Wakefield, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in South Bend, Ind. on July 31, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Dalton and Caroline (Balbach) Moomaw.
Mrs. Jackson was a graduate of South Bend Central High School, Class of 1940 and DePaul University in Indiana, Class of 1944.
She was a former social worker for the Town of Wakefield. Mrs. Jackson had served on the Wakefield Board of Health and Welfare Board. She was also a trustee for the Lucius Beebe Library in Wakefield.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Webster P. Jackson; two sons, William W. Jackson and his wife, Martha of Perry, Maine and Mark M. Jackson and his wife, Karen of South Hampton; four grandchildren, Emily Jackson Sanborn, Dr. Brian W. Jackson and Jessica and Nathan M. Jackson; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, William Moomaw.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St., Wakefield on Saturday July 12 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Messenger Corp, 8 Lafayette St., Wakefield, MA 01880, or to the Brooksby Village Protestant Fund, 100 Brooksby Village Drive, Peabody, MA 01960.
