MIFFLINTOWN - Harold C. Mummah, 87, of Mifflintown, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital.
Born Sept. 26, 1913, in Fermanagh Twp., Juniata County, he was the son of the late Harvey S. and Euretta (Sponhauer) Mummah. His wife, Freida K. (Kauffman) Mummah, whom he married June 1, 1941, survives. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Earl D. (Hulda Kathryn) Zook, Stephens City, Va. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald E. Mummah, J. Delbert Mummah and Earl G. Mummah. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from the finance office of Standard Steel, Burnham, with 45 years of service. He was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown, where he served as an Elder, Trustee, and belonged to the Westminster Men's Group. He was also a member of the Supervisors Club of Standard Steel, Burnham, and the Juniata County Sportsmen's Club. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, corner of Third and Lemon Streets, Mifflintown, with the Rev. David A. Cook officiating. Interment will be in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Oakland Mills. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown and from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to: Mifflintown Hose Co. No.1, Washington Ave., Mifflintown, PA 17059 or to the Central Juniata EMS, HC-63, Mifflintown, PA 17059."
