ZELMA MUMAW
Zelma Bernice Mumaw, 81, 902 Brett Cable Road, died Friday at 11:30 p.m. at her residence.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Gill Chapel. Bro. Cliff Woodrum and Bro. Ben R. Bean will officiate. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery in Greene County. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
She was born July 19, 1917, in Martin County to Curtis and Verna (Dowden) Waggoner. She married Dr. Martin L. Mumaw Jr. on Feb. 7, 1948, and he survives.
She graduated from Burns City High School in 1936.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and a honorary member of Washington Garden Club. She also supported many community projects.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Cheryl L. Beck, Greencastle; a son, Martin L. Mumaw III, Washington; a sister, Deloris Arford, Odon; and a brother, Odis Waggoner, Odon.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Parsons.
