Zachariah was born, south of the town of Pitchin in the Greene Township, Clark County,Ohio on a small farm where his parents lived prior to his fathers death, which occured in September 1907. The following December Zachariah ran off to Covington, Kentucky with his neighborhood sweetheart Cora Agnes Brubaker who lived about a mile south east of the farm where he was born and eloped the day after Christmas 1907. He and his bride moved to Springfield and eventually bought property on Broadway Street where they resided until 1938 when they purchased property in the Champaign County, two miles south of Urbana, where Zach died of a sudden heart attack. Cora, his wife remained on the farm until late 1955 when she returned to her old homestead on Broadway. Zack was a Painter and a Paint Contractor and a very good wall paper hanger in the Springfield, Clark County area.
