"CECIL J. MUMMA
Bridgeville - Cecil J. Mumma, 75, of 110 Washington St., Died Friday in Dover Air Force Base Hospital. He had been ill with leukemia. Mr. Mumma retired from the U.S. Army in 1962 as a lieutenant colonel. He served in WWII. From 1962 until 1976 he was a teacher of culinary occupations at Sussex County Vocational Technical High School. He received most of his baking experience while in the mailitary, where he was an instructor and chief of food services at various military installations in the United States and Europe. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford, and the Knights of Columbus Moula COuncil of Seaford, where he had been an officer. He is survived by his wife, Delores R, four sons, Roberts J. of Manassas, VA, Michael J. of Webster, NY, Patrick J. of Crofton, MD, and Cecil A. of Springfield, VA.; a brother, Franklin O, of Atlanta, a sister, Edna Berghoff of Angola, IN, and 11 grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Seaford, with burial Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 at the Hardesty Funeral Home, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where prayers will be recited at 8.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 532 Stein Highway, Seaford DE, 19973."
