Obituary for LOIS MUMMA WENGER
WENGER, Lois Mumma, age 80, of Trotwood, Ohio, formerly of the Middletown area, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born January 24, 1936 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania and moved to Ohio in the spring of 1963. She was a School Teacher, primarily of the sixth grade, at different schools in the Middletown City School System, for 39 years, retiring in 1998. Along with her husband, she was co-pastor of the Middletown Church of the Brethren. She was currently an active member of the Trenton Mennonite Church. Lois was church organist, taught Christian Education, and was involved in the mission outreach at the church. Lois loved to vacation by the ocean. Preceding her in death were her parents, Leroy Gibble and Margarette (nee Richwine) Mumma; and her husband of 53 years, Harold Paul Wenger in 2008. She is survived by five children, Jill (Jeff) Hardenbrook, Dean (Jerianne) Wenger, Kara (Kevin) Yaussy, Gina (husband Eric Funk) Wenger, and Marlo Wenger Mapps; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob and Laban Wenger, Rachel, Sara (Barton) and Bram Hardenbrook, and Evelyn and Teagan Yaussy; two great grandchildren, Silas Wenger and Oliver Barton; three brothers, Luke, Mark and John Mumma; one sister, Mary Shiffer; many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Graveside services will be Friday, July 29, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Mennonite Cemetery, Wayne Madison Road, in St. Clair Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one?s choice. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
