Leroy N. Heisey
Leroy N. Heisey, 84, of 169 Oakridge Drive, Mountville, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at St. Anne's Retirement Community of natural causes. He was the husband of Esther Mumma Heisey with whom he celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary Oct. 10, 2005.
He was born in Rapho Twp., son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Nornhold Heisey. He was a fruit farmer for Herr's Fruit Farm before his retirement, a former member of Mountville Church of the Brethren, and a member of Manor Brethren In Christ Church. He enjoyed bus trips, gardening, fishing, wood working and his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is one son: Donald L., married to Eunice Heisey, Penryn; three daughters: Marian H., married to Richard Myers, Washington Boro, Janet D., married to Jan Graver, Manheim, and Beverly J., married to John Schilthuis, Lancaster; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother: Martin, married to Maryellen Heisey, Manheim; one sister: Esther, married to Rex Ostrander, Columbia. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Norman, Arthur and Warren Heisey, and one sister: Rhoda Fry.
Funeral service will be held at the Kraft-Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville, Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Glen M. Faus, officiating. Private interment will be held in Chiques Hill Cemetery, Rapho Twp. There will be no public viewing.
