Lucy M. Lord, of Wellesley. MA passed away on June 26, 2013. She was born in Lancaster, PA in 1926, the daughter of Stanley N. Mumma and Anna Elizabeth Davis Mumma, sister of the late Deborah Edwards of Ross, California. She graduated from the Lancaster Country Day School, Madeira School in MacLean, Va. and attended Smith College. She married Andrew James (Jim) Lord Jr. in 1947, he passed away in 1995. She is survived by five children, Andrew J. Lord III and his wife Hannah of Framingham, Stanley M. Lord of Wellesley, Davis Clark and her husband Alex of Norwell, Benjamin F.D. Lord and his wife Nancy of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, John W. Lord and his wife Katsuko of Manchester, VT. Lucy leaves nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Lucy has been a Wellesley resident for 61 years. She worked at Hathaway House Bookstore in Wellesley and as an Executive Secretary at Dunn and Bradstreet. She was an active participant of Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, The Smith College Club and the Fitness Club for Women where sh e loved Dance Exercise. She also enjoyed her Book Club and the Adult Education series in Wellesley. She was a member of both the Vincent Club and the Junior League of Boston. During her later years she loved being surrounded by her family and the joy of taking family photos to share with her many friends. Anyone who knew her would comment on her generosity and kindness to others. A memorial celebration of her life will be held Friday, July 19 at 11:00 am at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Wellesley. A reception will follow the service. Buria will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
