Martha A. Mumma
CHAMBERSBURG
Martha "Marti" A. Mumma, age 73, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Hershey Medical Center. She was born Tuesday, December 1, 1942, in Philadelphia, the daughter of Anna Elizabeth Wolf of Elizabethtown and the late C. Hunter Pettit.
She obtained her Diploma in Nursing from Lancaster General Hospital in 1963, her Bachelors Degree from University of Maryland in 1992 and her Masters Degree from Misericordia University in 1995. She was employed by the Chambersburg Hospital for 35 years. She touched the lives of many people in her career including many of her coworkers by providing them with her handmade baby blankets. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 52 years, H. Robert Mumma; three children, Steven S. Mumma of Chambersburg, Michael E. (Wendi) Mumma of Chambersburg, and Kimberly J. (Rick) Meyers of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Erin, Tessa, Tyler, Kirsten, Bryce, Rachael, and Brodie; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Brooklyn; and two sisters, Jean E. Bleecher of Mountville and Betty Jane Torrey of Middletown.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Funeral Services will be private. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 24, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg.
The family requests the omission of flowers. The family would prefer donations to be made to a charity of one's choice in Marti's name.
