Robert C. Mumma, 75, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2004 at his home in Lower Paxton Township.
He was born on April 9, 1929 in Lemoyne, the son of the late David S. Mumma and Miriam S. Howard.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Geraldine L. Harbold; a son, Robert H. Mumma and his wife, Donna of Rockwall, TX; a daughter, Judy A. McAdams and her husband, Michael of Denison, TX; grandsons, Steven and Sean Mumma and David McAdams; a sister, Martha Johnson of York; a brother, David H. Mumma of Lebanon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert retired from the Polyclinic Medical Center after 23 1/2 years of service. At the age of 5, he entered the Milton Hershey School and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1946. He was a Veteran of the 1st Marine Division and served tours of duty in China from 1946-48, and in Korea from 1950-51. He received a commendation medal with a combat "V" for valor.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Liverpool and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, New Cumberland. He was also a member of the West Shore Masonic Lodge and attended the Charlton United Methodist Church.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 11 a.m., at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with his pastor, Eugene Liddick officiating.
