Note: His middle name has been recorded as "Row" by some reserachres, but he listed it as "Raugh" on his WWII draft card found on Ancestry.com [U.S. World War II Draft Registration Cards, 1942]
Ernest spelled his surname as "Mumaugh" on his 1912 marriage license to Carolyn Blair Cook and on his 1917 WWI draft registration, which he also signed that way. His wife, Carolyn, used the Mumaugh surname spelling for the rest of her live and is what is inscribed on her tombstone. Ernest, however, returned to the "Mumaw" spelling sometime after their marriage and is what was used in his obituary and death certificate.
He was married three times --- Martha "Mattie" Short in 1912, Carolyn (Blair) Cook in 1922 and to Ada Marie Kimberlin in 1944
