ELKHART - Phillip Joseph Mumaw, 60, of 1706 S. Charles Place, died at 2:00 p.m. Friday (February 8, 2008) in his home. He was born February 16, 1947, to Phillip Foster and Mary Rose (Drazsnazak) Mumaw. He married Gloria Ann Hollis on May 15, 1993, in Mishawaka, IN. She survives along with three sons, Jason E. (Jennifer) Mumaw of Mishawaka, Phillip J. (Stephanie) Mumaw Jr. of Union, MI, and Eric A. Lefebvre of Elkhart. Also surviving are two daughters, Shellie Lefebvre of Elkhart and Nicole (Nicholas) Bevis of Elkhart; five grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Jerry) Owensby of Alabama; and one brother, Bill (Sue) Mumaw of St. Louis MO. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart. Graveside services will be held at noon Friday at South Lawn Cemetery in South Bend. Pastor Mike Shirley from the Community Gospel Church in Bremen will officiate the services. Military honors will be rendered by Elkhart DAV Chapter #19. A memorial service will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday in Freedom Hall, 2513 Eddy Street, Elkhart, IN. Phillip was a U.S. Army veteran and a life member of DAV Chapter #19. He was co-founder and an officer of Freedom Hall in Elkhart. He was a member of AA and an avid Notre Dame fan. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Phillip J. Mumaw. Elkhart Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
