Iva K. Mummau
Iva K. Mummau, 84, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the home.
A homemaker all her life, Mrs. Mummau was a member of Mt. Pleasant Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Joy where she had served on the kitchen committee. Known to her family as an immaculate housekeeper, she loved flowers, enjoyed spending time in her garden, and taking care of her violets and ferns.
Born on September 25, 1921 in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Fannie Shelly Spickler. Her husband, Owen E. Mummau died in 1999.
Iva is survived by four sons, Clair S., married to Jean Kreider Mummau, Mount Joy, O. Howard, married to Rae Sullivan Mummau, Lancaster, and Lawrence N., married to Sheryl Rohrer Mummau, Honey Grove, and Vincent N. Mummau, Strawberry Point, Iowa; four daughters, Geraldine M., married to Eli Zimmerman, Norfolk, Nebraska, I. Bernice, married to Ronald Tamkin, Pataskala, Ohio, Lesetta E., married to Marlin D. Weaver, Lititz, and Celesta F., married to Scott Funk, Millersville; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Martin, married to Arlene Ginder Spickler, Warren, married to Verdella Longenecker Spickler, both of Mount Joy, and Galen, married to Annabelle Longenecker Spickler, Gratz. An infant son, Kenneth E. Mummau; a grandson, Keith A. Mummau; and a sister, Elva Ginder preceded her in death.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at Mt. Pleasant Brethren in Christ Church, 1756 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Mount Joy on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Paul Keefer and Pastor Bob Verno officiating. Interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 N. Penryn Rd., Manheim on Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning at Mt. Pleasant Church from 9 until 10 a.m.
