Obiturary - MARY P. LOFLIN - Beckley, WV Register-Herald on 22 March 2000
Mary Phillips Loflin, 92, of Beckley, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at her home following a long illness.
Born March 15, 1908, in Shady Spring, she was the daughter of the late L.B. and Kate Bair Phillips.
Mrs. Loflin was a homemaker and a graduate of Beckley High School, and she attended one year of Normal School in Beckley. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Beckley, and had been a resident of Beckley for the past 85 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Loflin; and a son, Donald Loflin.
Survivors include a son, Lyle Loflin of Charleston; three daughters, Mary Katheryn Carper of Derry, N.H., LaRene Jennings of Atlanta and Susan Loflin of Beckley; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Dr. James Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Don W. Loflin, Bret Loflin and Stephen Jennings, and close friends Robert Bauer, Alan Holliday and Bill Davis.
