ROBERT FEILD - Obituary

FEILD, Robert Beverley, born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., to the late Lucille Elizabeth Hawes and Rev. John Fleming Wren Feild, died August 9, 2012 in Richmond, Va. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Margaret Moomaw Feild; and brother, John Fleming Wren Feild Jr. He is survived by his son, Robert Benjamin Feild (Tamara H. Shackelford) of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Anne Love Feild and Laura Love Feild; stepgrandchildren, Jesse S. Shackelford and Jack D. Shackelford; daughter, Beverley Seward Feild Clement (Benjamin Ralph Clement Jr.) of Millsboro, Del.; and nieces, Elizabeth Wren Feild (Joel Luce) of Charlotte, N.C., and Gretchen S. Feild of New Iberia, La. Mr. Feild graduated from the University of Virginia in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, was a member of the Raven Society, and earned a master's and doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He was a U.S. Naval veteran and retired from E.I. DuPont. He was an avid fan of University of Virginia football, loved flowers, gardening, music and reading. Mr. Feild was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Chesterfield, Va., where a funeral ceremony will be held 7 p.m. Monday. A graveside service will take place 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Feild Moomaw family plot in Hot Springs, Va. The family would like to especially thank Mary Kelsey for the loving care that she has provided to Robert for the past eight years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association , The Salvation Army or St. David's Episcopal Church.
