Data source is the Swamp Reformed Cemetery records - Cocalico Township, Lancaster Co., PA
NOTE: These tombstone records were copied exactly from William Frederic Worner's notes as they were written. They are from the German epitaph's and the errors in spelling, dates, etc... are on purpose in keeping with the accuracy of the stones. (

[Douglad found a note in the files of the Reformed Evangical Society in Lancaster, PA, which says "should be 64 years, 4 months and 25 days" - not sure how they determined his length of life was in error and not the date of birth.....D. Mumma]

Will of Henry Muma - Will Book 5, vol 1 pp 23. Written on 26 Feb 1851, probated on 22 Sept. 1851. In the will he mentions 3 sons and 4 daughters. He only names the youngest son, Jeremiah.
"
It is my will that my youngest son Jeremiah is to be confirmed or taken into the church the same as the rest.
2nd, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Polly Muma all my real and personal estate after my death and it is to be in her possession as long as she beareth my name and after her death it is to be equally divided between my seven children.

Henry served in the War of 1812 and was granted a 40 acre warrant. Much of this information is contained in a file in the National Archives under file WT.49690-120-55 (note: it is possible that the last digits are 53 instead of 55.
Most of this information about Henry's war service is contained in two affidavits that were filed by his widow, Mary "Polly" Muma which are in the file listed above. One is a sworn statement made 25 Aug 1853 and there is a second one dated 22 March 1855. The following information is what I extracted from the statements.
1) Mary is unable to sign her name and so signs with her mark. Hence, all of the statements are written by someone else and the name spellings may not be correct.
2) States that her maiden name is Polly Evelling on the first document and Mary Aveling on second document. (Aebling is the correct spelling of her maiden name)
3) In the second document dated 1855, states she is 65 years old. (by my calculations, she would have been 64 years old)
4) She and Henry were married on 27 Jun 1813 by Rev Daniel Ulrich. Listed as "Ulerich Kester" of the Lutheran Congregation in the first document. The same marriage date is used on both documents. (There is a different date from the church records)
5) Henry died 11 August 1851 in West Cocalico Twp. of Lancaster County
6) Henry was mustered in to the military in Lebanon County in Sept 1914 for a term of 6 months.
7) That Henry received a land warrant or 40 acres (warrant #3099) under the act of 28 Sept 1850. She now wants to return the 40 acres and receive a 160 acre warrant to which she is entitled.
