9:126. ISAAC MUMMA, b. Nov. 17, 1844; m. Anna Lehn Graybill, b. June 26, 1844; farmer and dairyman for 33 years on the farm on which are now located the Weimer Chain Works toward Avon; residence now 420 East Lehman Street; Lutheran; from him was received the greater part of the information concerning his mother's
family; 2 children:
9:127. Graybill Mumma, deceased, m. Annie Benson; stenographer in Phila. No children.
9:128. Harry H. Mumma m. the widow of his brother; conducted a duck farm northeast of Avon for 5 years, now for 8 years a butterine merchant in Lebanon; residence, 418 E. Lehman street; Lutheran; 1 child; Joseph Benson.
Former City Councilman Harry H. Mumma passed away at 4:30 o'clock this morning at the home of his son, Joseph B. Mumma, at 230 Chestnut Street. He was in declining health for two years or more. He was in the sixty-first year of his age. The sorrow occasioned by his demise is deepened by the fact that his wife, the former Annie L. B. Benson, is seriously ill at the Good Samaritan Hospital. The decedent was born and reared in the Avon region, the homestead being located near the now defunct Lebanon Iron and Steel Company plant. His father was a dairyman and the son assisted him in his activities. Harry Mumma spent many years later in the wholesale distribution of butter, oleo margarine and like products, with headquarters for some years in the Rise Block on North Eighth Street. His last employment was with the Cornwall Railroad. He resided for a considerable period of years in the East Lehman Street section of the city, where he assisted in the development of that sector by erecting homes and general transactions in realty. He was one of the early members of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and for some years was superintendent of the Sunday school. He was one of the founders of the Washington Fire Company, on East Lehman Street, and his signature not only appears on the charter but he served the organization for a long period of years in various official capacities including that of president, trustee, etc. He was a member of the Firemen's Aid Association, of Lebanon. In 1921 he was elected to City Council on the Republican ticket at the first election at which those city officials were named for a four-year term, the tenure previously having been two years. He aspired unsuccessfully to a second term. He had a wide acquaintanceship and his death is deeply deplored. [Lebanon Daily News, November 19, 1941, Page 1 & 2]
