Mildred Lillian (Reed) Moomaw, of West Windsor, died Tuesday, March 9, 2021, in her 96th year.
Born in West Windsor on the family farm, Mildred was a lifelong resident of West Windsor Township and was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1944. Early on in life, she spent many hours working on the Reed family farm where they harvested potatoes, wheat, soybeans, and other crops. Mildred was employed as an aide in the school cafeteria at Dutch Neck Elementary School for more than 50 years until her retirement in 2016. At the time of her death, she was one of the oldest living members of The First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck where she taught Sunday school for more than 60 years. Mildred was also a long-time member of Hamilton Grange #79.
She is predeceased by her parents, Lester and Evalinda (Everett) Reed and her husband of 40 years, J. Edgar Moomaw, Jr.; She is survived by a brother, Clifford Reed and his wife, Kay; her sons, David and his wife, Jeanne, Terry and his wife, Gail, and Scott and his wife, Karen; her four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Church Service will be held at The First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck via Live Streaming on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. due to COVID protocols and capacity restrictions. For Live Stream details please contact pastor@dutchneckpresbyterian.com.
There will be no calling hours and cremation will be private.
Due to funeral restrictions, the staff at the Saul Colonial Home, respectfully requests that all invited guests please wear a face covering of some kind during the services for Mildred. We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for your understanding.
