Notes:
This individual has not been identified. From the age of his parents, born in Maryland, I suspect that he is from the "Baltimore" Mumma family, but it is unclear.
1880 Census Place: Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH, ED 152, 3rd Ward, page 144A
S. M. MUMMA, male, widowed, 81, b: MD/MD/MD, pedler
I visited the Montgomery County Records office many years ago and copied the following information from the "Records of Death 1893-1901" entry #141
--------------------------------
Samuel Mumma. 16 March 1884, 88 years, died in infirmary, born Virginia, farmer, dropsey, residence - Jefferson Twp.
This is reasonably consistent with the 1880 census data. Ages are not too far off and the state of birth is close. It is unclear who reported the information for the census or the death record.

The following information was supplied by Carolyn Burns -
"In the readings from the Infirmary Cemetery, I found the following:
Mummay/Mummey, Samuel, died 16 March 1884.
This information was taken from the earliest recorded Infirmary journal. No grave had been found when the genealogy society did the last reading in 2002, but burial in the Infirmary cemetery was implied from notes in the journal.

So, it is unclear whether Samuel's surname was Mumma or Mummey
