COUNTY CORRESPONDENCE
A Consensus of Current Events in County Towns
Loy's---Feb. 23
A very pretty home wedding took place near Stony Branch, on Tuesday, February 16th, at the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Mumma. The contracting parties were Mr. John W. Loy, of Loy's, and Miss Alice E., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Mumma, of Stony Branch. At 4 p.m. the matrimonial knot was tied by Rev. J. H. Barb, of Mechanicstown. After the ceremony the guests were invited to the dining room to partake of refreshments. On Wednesday morning, 17th, they returned to the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Loy, of Loy's. The invited guests were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Mumma, Wm. Mumma, of Stony Branch; Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Martin, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Loy, Mrs. Margaret Diffendal, of Loys; Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Krise, of Frederick; Mr. D. S. Loy, John D. Diffendal, Misses Mary Wetsel, Mary Loy, Master George Yonson, Misses Mattie and Ida Eyler, Mr. Charles Eyler, Clayton Smith, of Double Pipe Creek. At 12 o'clock all sat down to a table loaded with all the delicacies that one's heart could wish. The afternoon was pleasantly spent and at four o'clock the guests again were invited to the dining room, this time to an elegant cake, ice cream, lemonade, orange and confectionery supper. In the evening the happy couple were tendered a serenade by the Owens Creek boys. Mr. and Mrs. Loy have our best wishes for a long and prosperous life.
