Notes:
Mrs. Helen Harman Mumma, 82, of Rocky Ridge, died Wednesday, March 5, at Beverly Healthcare in Frederick.
She was the wife of the late Charles William Mumma.
Born Oct. 6, 1920, in Frederick County, she was a daughter of the late Charles William and Elsie McAfee Harman.
Mrs. Mumma was a graduate of Emmitsburg High School. She graduated from Marvello School of Beauty in Baltimore in 1940. She was married the same year and moved to Rocky Ridge.
She opened a beauty shop in Thurmont, which she owned and operated.
Mrs. Mumma was a member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church for more than 50 years. She also was a member of the auxiliary of Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Co.
Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca Eiker and husband Gil of Rocky Ridge; one son, Ronnie Mumma and wife Charity of Hagerstown; two sisters, Charlotte Thompson of Thurmont, and Marian Kelly of Dunkirk, Ind.; one brother, Kenneth Harman of Frederick; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mumma was preceded in death by four sisters, Edna Anders, Hazel Baker, Gertrude Miller and Belva Welch; and three brothers, Howard Harman, Morris Harman and Ralph Harman.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, where the family will be in attendance from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, with the Rev. James M. Russell officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
