YORK Bertie E. Alfano, 96, died at 3:25 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Millcroft Nursing Home in Newark, Del., where she had been a guest. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Alfano.
Born November 16, 1907 in York, a daughter of the late Clayton A. and Mina (Miller) Mumma.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in North York. Mrs. Alfano is survived by a son, L. Joseph Alfano and his wife Nancy of York; a daughter, Janet F. Dreyfus and her husband Lawrence of Earleville, Md.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 947 N. George Street, York with her pastor, the Rev. Larry R. Bergh, officiating. Viewing will be 10 to 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Baumeister, Orcutt & Small Mortuaries, South Queen at Jackson Street, York is in charge of arrangements.
