Obituary for Kathryn Louise Cassells
Born in Aylmer Ontario, Feb. 13, 1917, Kathryn married and raised her family in Tillsonburg, before retiring to Brantford more than 30 years ago. Kathryn passed away peacefully at Hardy Terrace in Mount Pleasant on Aug. 24, 2016, in her 100th year. Kathryn is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Gord Humphrey, and her 3 grandsons and their families: David and Laura, Rob, Eric and Dawn, and their children, her 6 great-grandchildren, Emma, Morgan, Lauren, Josh, Bryce and Ella, and her brother Joe Muma. Predeceased by her loving husband Alex Cassells (1976), her brothers: Summers (1991) and Grant (1997). Kathryn will be remembered for her love of family, kindness to others, quick wit, easy smile and chuckle, right up until the point of her death. The greatest gift she gave us was her time and unconditional love and devotion. Her life demonstrated her faith and love for the Lord. Friends are invited to call at the Dennis Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford, on Friday from 6:00 - 9:00 pm and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service and Celebration of her life at 11:00 am in the chapel followed by refreshments. Interment in the Tillsonburg Cemetery immediately afterward. In lieu of flowers, friends might consider donations to Bethel-Park Bible Chapel (her church family for the last 34 years), Power to Change (University Student Ministries) or the Tri-Geminal Neuralgia Association of Canada.
