At one time he resided on an 80 acre farm just 4 miles west of Jerseyville. On May 27, 1856, Isaac bought 35 acres of part of lot 3, conc.1, Ancaster, from Erastus Lackman. Then on Dec. 10, 1859, he bought 80 acres, part of N 1/2 of lot 3,conc.1, from George Stanton. On Dec. 22, 1863, Isaac sold 38 acres 0n lot 3, to Casper Remey and on the same date purchased 78 acres on lot 3, conc. 1, from Daniel Remey. On Nov. 21, 1865, Isaac sold 80 acres, the N part of lot 3, conc. 1, to John Mannen. In the 1871 Wentworth County census, Isaac Fonger, age 52, born Ontario, Baptist, German origin, and a stump extractor. In 1891, Isaac resided in Ancaster Twp., Wentworth Co., he was Baptist, a gentleman farmer. In later life, Isaac resided in Hamilton. (George F.
