Gwen passed away March 29, 2016 at home after a brief illness. Born in 1956 @ Davis-Monthan AFB, her family moved to Rancho Cordova in 1966. Graduated Cordova H.S; attended American River College. Gwen retired with 30 yrs. service from the Co. of Sacramento, then worked a year as an IT consultant. Retired again in 2015 with 8 yrs. State service. Gwen is survived by her sons Eric (wife Miriam) and Stephen, daughter Melissa, her friend/ex-husband Bob Muma, brothers Edgar, Gary, Carl, and Dale Carlson, mother Marion Carlson, grandchildren Elijah, Acacia, Zechariyah, and Eric Muma, Caleb, and Lily Van Patten, nieces, nephews, and many other close family members and friends. Gwen was loved and respected by all. Generous with family, friends, and even strangers, her main focus in life was her children, and taking care of others. Gwen was lovingly cared for on her final journey by her son Stephen Muma who cared for his mother in her home 24/7. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
