Notes:
Data researcher is Doug Mumma.
When I first attempted to identify the children of William Young and Eliza Mumma Young, I incorrectly added in a boy by the name of Sanford Young who was living in the Butler County Ohio area. Further research showed that Sanford Young was not their child and he was removed, but some other people copied my information. Their children were correctly identified from several sources, namely:
1) The Will of John Mumma, Eliza's father, John identifies two heirs of Eliza Young, his daughter who was deceased. The children named were Mary and John Young. It was written in 1849 not long before John Mumma's death.
2) William Young was appointed the guardian of Mary and John Young.
3) The biography of John Mumma Young (see below) in which he identifies himself and sister Mary as the only children of Eliza Mumma and William Young. The biography did not identify the children who died as infants.
4) From the "Burial Records - Middletown Pioneer Cemetery 1827-1987", Volume 1. Eliza Mumma Young and 3 of her children are buied in the same plot in the Middletown Pioneer Cemetery.

From these census records it would appear that William took the children back to Hanover, York Co., PA and left them with his widowed sister whose name was Rebecca "Peggy" Young Billmyer. Perhaps William remined in the Middletown area for a few years tending to his business interests.
