Notes:
We do not have an exact death date for John, but Elizabeth must have been a very industrious woman as she is listed in the 1830 and 1840 census as a head of household with children. From the ages of the children, it is likely some of them remained at home unmarried. The names of her children living in 1848 after her death are recorded in the deed of the sale of her property to her son, David.
The 1830 census (2nd district) lists an Elizabeth Mumma
1 male 5-10 [probably George W. Mumma]
1 male 10-15 [possibly William or Jacob]
1 male 15-20 [possibly William or Jacob]
1 male 20-30 [possibly William or Jacob]
2 males 30-40 [unknown]
1 female 10-15 [probably Elizabeth the daughter]
2 females 40-50 [fits nicely for Elizabeth the mother possibly a sister]
Daughter Margaret is married to John McCubbin and is not living at home. Likewise, son David is married and living elsewhere.
The 1840 census (2nd Dist) lists an Elizabeth Mumma
1 male 15-20 [? George W. Mumma, born 1820-1825]
2 males 20-30 [? possibly William or Jacob, born between 1810-1820]
1 female 15-20 [? Elizabeth, born bet 1820-1825 & she is still unmarried in 1848]
1 female 50-60 [? Elizabeth born bet 1780-1790]
Daughter Margaret is married to John McCubbin and is not living at home. Likewise, son David is married and living elsewhere.
There are several deeds which help identify the property she owned and the names of her living children when she died in 1848
1) 6 February 1834 - Deed (lease) TK 234 folio 350, from Charles Bryan to Elizabeth Mumma for the lease of 1 acre of land on the Baltimore-York road for $6/yr for 99 years.
