Ethel Mumma, age 12 (Feb 1888) born in IA
Ethel G. Mumma Goodell, daughter of W. H. Mumma and Charitey Jane Plymate Mumma, was born on Feb. 13, 1888 at Bethlehem, Iowa. She passed away at the Wayne County Hospital Aug. 25, 1959 at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 12 days.
On Oct. 24, 1906 she was united in marriage to Horace W. Goodell. To this union three children were born: Janet E. Niday, who passed away June 3, 1959, Lois E. Martin of Plano, Iowa and William H. Goodell of Humeston, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Jessie E. Harless, three brothers, John, Sam and Calvin and one daughter, Janet E Niday.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Horace Goodell, her daughter, Lois Martin, her son, William, a son-in-law, Veron Niday; one brother, Emanuel and one sister, Mamie Davis, five grandchildren and a host of neighbors and friends. She was an active member of the Methodist Church and participated in other club activities in the community.
Services were held Thursday, Aug. 27th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Corydon with Rev. Weston conducting the service. Burial was in the Corydon Cemetery.
