If it weren't for the obits, Annie's marriage licenses would have you puzzled - there are 3 options for her maiden name. She married Joseph Sutton (Joseph is 46) on Nov 15, 1887. (Note: The marriage records at the York Heritage Trust list her marriage date as 28 December 1887 - DMM). Her age is given as 30 years , and her maiden name as Mummert, her father's name given as Christian Mummert - but she signed her name as Annie R Mumma ( it's very clear). Joseph's first marriage had ended in divorce in April 1, 1887.
Joseph Sutton died on May 16, 1891, and on April 13, 1898, Annie and William King applied for their license. Annie gives her age as 30 (William was 25). This time she says her father's name was Cristian Murray and Cathran Murry. William and Annie had a son, Curtis, who died in 1933 at the age of 31 in Wilmington, Deleware. There is another child - but I don't know who her father was. In 1931, an obit was published for a Mrs. Daisy Hetrick, died from injuries in an automobile accident . She was around 51 years of age, and was survived by her mother, Mrs. William King and her stepbrother, Curtis King.
Further census data shows that a Daisy Mumma, age 19, b. MD is living in the Hopewell township, not far from her mother, Annie. In the 1900 census, Annie lied about her age (-10 years) and the fact that she had given birth to any children. Possibly she did not talk to the census taker and the person providing the information didn't know and was guessing.
