Bertha H. Mumma, 94, of 101 Sunrise Ave., died Sunday at Lancaster General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A graduate of the former Shippensburg Normal School, she moved to Lancaster in 1926 and taught five years at Lancaster Business College.
She was a member of Church of the Apostle's United Church of Christ.
Born in Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late Ember and Cora Tewell Lashley.
Her husband, Lester C. Mumma, died in 1997.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean Mumma of Lancaster and Linda Stehman of Windsor, Conn.; a son, Glen, married to Delores Mumma of Manheim; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Eileen Porter, a sister and five brothers.
